Land and water management should aim to safeguard the
sustainable development and use of land and water resources through
a wide range of supporting measures in which their various uses are
balanced and optimized.
Land and water development always affects many individuals and a
wide range of public, private and social sector organizations,
including various levels of government. We consider viable
partnerships between stakeholders a key factor for success. We have
developed a fully participatory approach as well as a set of
instruments ensuring that participation and partnership are
effective and contribute to sustainable project results.
We assist governments in strategy development and in the design and
execution of studies, programmes and projects that address land and
water development, peri-urban and physical infrastructure,
institutional and administrative infrastructure, and the protection
of fragile ecological systems.
